The Academy of Scholastic Achievement (ASA) is committed to protecting the privacy of its students, staff, alumni, and visitors to its website. Because we respect your privacy, ASA will not sell, exchange or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information without your consent, except to the extent required by law. Any information you share will be accessed only by Academy personnel to process your request. Any personnel who knowingly shares your personal information to third parties other than ASA personnel will be subject to dismissal and legal action.
ASA conforms to security standards and Information Technology practices to assure the integrity of data and privacy of its clients. Access to information is restricted to staff who have a legitimate business need for the information.
ASA follows appropriate procedures in collecting, maintaining and disseminating social security numbers of students and alumni.
ASA adheres to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which generally prohibits the release of student education records without student permission. However, FERPA does permit the release of public or “directory” information about students. According to FERPA, parents have the right to inspect and copy any and all school student records of that parent’s child. ASA will grant parents the right to review and copy their child’s records within a reasonable time and no more than 15 days after the date of the request.
